VCC provides advisory services, technical assistance, and professional workshops in areas of small business, clean energy, affordable housing, and grocery and healthy food access. These services and specialized sessions help business owners build the skills needed to grow and sustain a successful enterprise.

VCC will consider lending to start-ups, but with more scrutiny. Typically, VCC requires the following from start-ups: • Management with industry experience greater than 5 years • 25% cash equity from the borrower (of total project cost) • Detailed analysis of the market, competition, and customer base as included in business plan with detailed reasonable projections • Secondary Source of income such as State/Military retirement income • Prior business ownership experience required • Proven positive credit history
