Chief Risk Officer

Ed has more than 20 years risk management experience, with a deep background in the government and banking sectors. Prior to joining VCC in 2014, he served in a variety of credit and risk management roles in New York, including the New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development, one of the largest government community development agencies in the nation. He also led a team of community development lenders for the Citibank CD banking group.

Ed has a wide understanding of the affordable housing arena, both in Low-Income Housing and Historic Tax Credits. He’s a hands-on problem solver with expertise in corporate control functions such as risk management, compliance, and internal auditing for global financial institutions. He has directed aggressive growth in both emerging and developed markets, and possesses a strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and consumer banking products and services. He also had expertise in branch startups, IT security, and other areas of banking.

Ed is fluent in Cantonese Chinese. He and his wife, Julie, have four children and live in Richmond.
