CHRISTIANSBURG, Va. - September 19, 2008 - Virginia Community Capital (VCC) is pleased to announce that Clyde A. Cornett, CPA has joined the team as Chief Financial Officer and Chief Operations Officer.
As a licensed CPA in four states, Cornett has worked with over 25 community banks in a variety of roles. He is the former Senior Manager for Elliott Davis in Galax, Va., one of the largest accounting services in the Southeast for entrepreneurial companies and middle-market businesses. While there he was responsible for the planning and supervision of all phases of audits of financial institutions, internal audit and credit review assistance engagements and other consulting engagements, as well as the review of SEC and other regulatory filings.
Prior to his work with Elliott Davis, Cornett served six years with Larrowe & Company, PLC, working in financial reporting, community banking and operational issues concerning community banks. He was responsible for all phases of engagements including planning, supervision, execution and review.
Cornett received is B.A. in Business Administration and Accounting from the University of Virginia's College at Wise and is a member of both AICPA and VSPCA.
