On December 6, the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) hosted a ribbon-cutting event at Virginia Community Capital's (VCC) office in Christiansburg Virginia. The event was to promote VCC as a new chamber member in 2010. Approximately 45 businesses, nonprofits and community representatives joined local chamber members and VCC staff for a ribbon-cutting, which was held "inside" to the delight of everyone on a blustery, cold day in the New River Valley. Lanny Belcher, Membership Development Coordinator, MCCC opened the program. VCC's Shaun Rai and Teresa Walker also provided brief comments about VCC's operations, programs and banking office, Community Capital Bank of Virginia.
