Last year, VCC featured Essel Propack (largest specialty packaging manufacturer of plastic tubes) as a success story in our 2011 Annual Report. We provided financing for a 105,000-square-foot expansion of the Essel Group’s facility in Danville’s Airside Industrial Park. The project brought three business lines together under one roof — Essel’s laminate tubes division, its closures division, and Arista Tubes.

Last month, VCC participated in the celebration of another important milestone for Essel Propack—their ten-year anniversary in Virginia. Senior Loan Officer Dawn DeHart was on hand to mark the occasion.
“Essel Propack has been an outstanding contributor to the continued recovery of Danville, Virginia,” DeHart noted. “Since June 2002, when Essel Propack Ltd., of Mumbai, India, first announced establishing Essel America here, the company has invested over $100 million in various expansions. The company’s consistent growth has generated 226 jobs for a region with some of the country’s highest unemployment rates.”
Essel Propack, a division of the much larger Essel Group, is the largest specialty packaging company worldwide with 35 percent of the global market. In a news release, the company gives credit for its continued growth to employees and partners: “Essel attributes their success largely to the high level of dedication of its associates as well as local and global strategic customer partnerships.”
Like VCC, Essel Propack knows the value of doing more, together.
